Terms & Conditions 

1. Introduction

The DMA terms and conditions includes information for clients and parents/guardians of children under 18 years of age:

DMA aims to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for every client. To help us provide a quality service please note the following important information: 

All questions on the medical/diet/needs form must be completed and submitted by the client or parent/guardian of a child under 18 before any child takes part. 

Clients or parents/guardians of children under 18 must ensure that DMA is informed about any changes to the information provided. 

‘Sessions and services’ refers, but is not limited to, all listed services at www.dmalondon.com including private coaching, online coaching, weekly classes, elite masterclasses, self tape auditions, self tape demo reel, voice coaching, industry consultation and advice to parents.

‘Client’ refers to anyone over the age of 18 and any child under the age of 18 with parent/guardian consent who engages in any DMA session or service. 

These terms and conditions apply to DMA sessions and services applied for and consented to by the client or the parent/guardian of a child under the age of 18. 

Changes to these terms and conditions require the written consent and approval of DMA. 

2. Times

DMA session and service times and fees are given on the website www.dmalondon.com and in the confirmation email. The successful applicant will only be deemed to have been accepted into any DMA service once payment has been received. This then establishes a contract for the provision of services. Receipt of the payment will be confirmed in an email. 

3. Lateness/cancellation

If you are late to your session, we are not able to extend your session time beyond the original agreed time. We do not offer refunds for lateness. If you are late you will be expected to pay for the full session time.

DMA has a 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you cancel or reschedule your session outside of this time frame you will not be issued a refund.

4. Personal belongings

Clients are obliged to take care of their own belongings. DMA does not accept any liability for lost or damaged belongings during any of its sessions or services or in any of its venues.

All sessions are held in a shared building with the exception of online sessions, items must not be left unattended at any time.

5. Social media

By taking part in DMA sessions or services, you give DMA permission to take photographs and/or video of you or your child.

You grant DMA full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for training purposes, fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the company’s aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications.

In order to comply with data protection laws, if we will be recording or taking a photograph and/or video of you or your child, we will use this permission and the coach will also mention it at the beginning of the session.

DMA currently records most group sessions for training purposes.

If a client takes photographs or videos during any DMA session or service, they must ask for permission from the people involved before posting anything to social media.

If a client is working on a project that has been written by the director, they must not post anything to social media without permission.

If clients have been given permission to upload work produced by DMA to social media, they must credit DMA and the director involved.

Clients consent to the publication of their photographs and/or video footage for use on our website www.dmalondon.com or other DMA publicity material only.

6. Privacy/Classified Materials

DMA encourages students to only participate in exercises and scenes they feel comfortable with.

The client is entirely free to refuse participation in an exercise or scene at any given time.

Clients will perform classified materials, which may require them to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). If the client has signed an NDA to say they can only use the material for an audition that is all the client is permitted to use it for. 

DMA does not keep or use any footage that is for a classified audition.

If a client is being filmed for a project e.g. a monologue or scene work, that is not classified, the client is permitted to use the footage. 

By taking part in the session or service, the client hereby agrees that DMA will also hold ownership of the footage, and the footage may be used for promotional purposes for the actor and DMA.

Online sessions may be filmed for training and development purposes.

7. Fees 

All fees paid to DMA are non-refundable including deposits without exception. We have a large waiting list so please ensure you are 100% committed before reserving a space as we need to turn away other students when bookings are made.

The client is liable for the full amount stated when booking any session or service.

All payments are accepted via the Acuity payment system on the website.

DMA does not offer refunds of fees/payments for any reason other than those outlined in 3. 

If an actors Membership is cancelled they automatically become a non-member. To regain membership they will have to attend another DMA Assessment session.

8. Absence

DMA operates a strict absence policy. You must inform your coach or session leader if you will absent at least 24-hours in advance of any absence or on the day of your session if the absence is unforeseen. 

You will be expected to pay for any session you have missed unless you have followed the lateness/cancellation process outlined at 3. 

9. Health and safety and liability 

Clients participate at their own risk and are obliged to inform DMA and its staff of any existing injuries or medical conditions. All needs/consent forms must have any known medical conditions stated and any changes to such information must be notified to DMA immediately in writing.

If a client is unsure whether they should participate in any session or service, they should consult their GP before enrolling in any DMA session or service.

If a client is unwell or has an accident requiring emergency treatment, the parent/guardian will be contacted via the emergency contact details provided on the needs/consent form. This number must always be contactable whilst the client is attending the DMA session or service.

Clients or the parent/guardian of children under the age of 18 are solely responsible for ensuring that the emergency contact details on DMA's records are up to date

The liability of DMA and that of its staff is restricted to session or service times only and then only due to gross negligence.

10. Complaints

All complaints to DMA about any DMA session or service are taken very seriously and followed up with a thorough investigation.

Complaints should be made in writing and sent to info@dmalondon.com.

11. Use of personal information

The personal data (as it is defined in the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (GDPR) of a client and/or parent/guardian of any child under the age of 18  will be processed by DMA, including any group companies in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which can be found here Privacy Policy. A hard copy of the Privacy Policy can be requested from info@dmalondon.com.

DMA owns all the rights, title and interest in and to its websites, including software, text and media and its trade marks, logos and brand elements. Nothing within these terms and conditions affects or licences the ownership of these rights. Any intellectual property created during any session or service is the property of DMA.

12. General

The decisions of the Founder, Director or coaches are final and shall not be contested in any way.

Inappropriate behaviour towards coaches, tutors and fellow actors will not be tolerated, and may result in the client being asked to leave the premises or online session and admission revoked from attending future sessions and services.

DMA reserves the right to exclude clients at any time from any service at its discretion. DMA does not tolerate unacceptable behaviour.

All clients must ensure mobile phones are switched off at the beginning of the sessions.

DMA reserves the right to make changes to the timetables and staff. If a coach is not available, DMA will always endeavour to provide a replacement coach. 

DMA has a zero-tolerance policy on the use of drugs and alcohol on its premises or during any of its sessions and services.

Clients caught carrying dangerous or offensive weapons will be immediately dismissed from the premises and banned from attending future sessions and services and where necessary law enforcement will be contacted.

DMA does not tolerate discrimination and harassment against any individual at any given time.

Clients are required to have an encouraging and supportive attitude to fellow actors, tutors and coaches during all sessions and services they attend.

DMA reserves the right to refuse any client admission to sessions and services at any time.

13. Cancellation and termination by DMA

Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to our programme, DMA reserves the right to withdraw or cancel any session or service availability for new bookings.

If DMA is forced to close sessions and services for any reason, including by Government instruction, then all prepaid sessions and services will be placed on hold until we are given instruction to resume activities. Refunds will not be available to those who cannot attend any future dates.

If you decide to cancel or terminate any of DMA’s packages of classes you will not be issued a refund for any payment made and will be expected to pay any outstanding fees. 

14. Information specific for parents/guardians of children under the age of 18

Parents/guardians must ensure that they make their own arrangements for children going to and leaving any sessions.  

DMA is not responsible for children outside of the designated session times and they should arrive and depart at the appropriate times. 

Please ensure your child has sufficient water, food, clothing and medication (where appropriate) for the duration of their session.

The care of children under the age of 18 outside of service hours will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

15. During lockdown due to covid-19

DMA ensures that all sessions and services adhere to government advice regarding Covid-19. You can find full information at the following website.

DMA encourages all clients to minimise their exposure to and risk of catching and transmitting Covid-19. This includes to limit use of public transport, to use hand sanitser placed throughout the building, washing hands before entering the studio, wearing a mask until entering the studio and maintaining social distance throughout sessions. DMA will complete a temperature check when clients enter the building and, where possible, will offer this to parents/guardians who drop their children off downstairs.
